First Wave Line-up Announcement

This August sees the debut edition of Afro Nation touch down in Portimão, the Algarve, Portugal.

Europe’s biggest urban music beach festival, taking place from August 1 to 4 on the stunning Praia da Rocha, brings together some of the most exciting names in afrobeats, hip hop, rnb, dancehall and bashment.

The headliners are a trio of Nigerian stars in Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy. IAMDDB, MIST, Yxng Bane, Stefflon Don, Ms Dynamite and many more also appear on the line-up, with DJs Charlie Sloth, Steel Banglez and Tim Westwood confirmed to play.

Boat and pool parties will take place alongside the main festival programme, while those with VIP tickets will have access to special events and dedicated areas.

Boasting 125 miles of coastline and 300 days of sun a year (with an average temperature of 26 degrees in August), the Algarve’s the perfect destination for lovers of white sand and glistening sea.

Praia da Rocha, about two miles south of Portimão, is the town’s main beach, where the remains of Fort of Santa Catarina (Forte da Santa Catarina), a 17th century fort lie. Praia da Rocha is surrounded by stunning red-rock cliffs, so it’s no surprise Praia da Rocha means ‘Rocky Beach’ in Portuguese.
